I've battled with my weight for a long time. In my middle twenties I made a commitment to losing weight and got down to my target weight. I felt awesome, I was thinking clearly, I looked great, life was good.

I got married, had kids, and got a job programming and the weight came back.

Now my kids are 3 and 4 and want to go out and be more active, so I want to be able to do things with them, be it soccer, dancing, whatever.

More importantly I want to be around healthy and happy for a long time. I don't want to be a burden on them when I get older.

I also want to show them that it's important to balance food with exercise and it's a good thing to work at being healthy.

Hey yo, Mo!! Keep up the good work. It's ok to fall of the wagon as long as you get right back on!!

I had to take care of issues at work and deal with extended family issues that included a two-day 1400 mile drive so I slipped in exercising and dieting, but I'm working hard on getting back on track.

Keep that green chart moving down. Keep it going!

I see the results! Your chart is going down, that's all that counts. You're way below 3 bills it looks like and that's awesome!

Ugh, what with my wife's birthday and Mother's Day all last weekend, and a bunch of other things going on, it was hard to focus on the workout. I continue to keep focused on eating less food than I did before, and my wife and I had salads with grilled chicken for dinner tonight, so that's great, but I took a break for a few days.

And now I feel panicked that I'm not losing weight fast enough, and I want to push myself harder and faster.

I know that I shouldn't push myself too hard, but I still want to lose weight faster. I want to see more results.

Good job on the running last week! That's a lot of calories!

Awesome. The little physical setbacks can be disheartening. But it's a marathon, not a sprint. Stay in it for the long haul.

Yesterday was much better. We have one of those Homedic Back Massagers at home and Heather got all the knots and tension out of my lower back. I actually thought she made it worse when I first tried to stand up and my whole body screamed in pain, but after a strong night of sleep I woke up with almost no pain, so I went running with the kids yesterday! It's good to not be in pain like that anymore. It was really good to exercise and not feel fire across my spine.

It's been a down week of sorts. After pushing myself for a few weeks I strained my back a little bit. I've taken it easy the last few days and only done yoga in an effort to appease my back, which is working.

This makes me worry a little bit, but I'm keeping an eye on my calories nonetheless and counting the days until I can get back to pushing myself.

Today, I feel hungry, not hungry in the physical sense, but hungry in the spiritual sense. I've dropped quite a bit of weight in the last couple of days, and I feel awesome. I feel motivated. I want to keep it up. I challenged a friend to a face-off for push-ups and crunches next month.

My arms are sore, my chest is sore, a fire burns in my gut, and I am ready for more.

I am hungry.

Keep it up Maurice. Keep up the activity every day! I had to switch to wrap around headphones because even earbuds with the things that wrap around your ear kept popping out for me.

I got new headphones to wear when I go walking and jogging. The iPod headphones don't cut it, but there were a great pair at Target for $10 that hook around the ear and come with a 4' cord. Next I'm getting an armband for the iPod so I don't have to worry about keeping it in my pocket.

I'm very excited.

Maurice, you kick ass and take names. I know you can be the uber-Mo. Use some of that far east mind-meld stuff to keep you in the right frame of mind!
